Service Dog Obedience Camp • • •

Training your own Service Dog can be a challenge, especially when you have limited assistance available in at home. Service Dog Obedience Camp is a great option for clients who are looking for specialty assistance task training, need help getting through the intense puppy socialization schedule, or are struggling with training their own Service Dog at home.

Our 5-Day Camp Program focuses on building and strengthening a specific set of behaviours and word cues desired by the owner. During this time, your dog comes to live with the Canine Foundations family to receive specialized training in a nurturing home environment. Each dog receives a custom program designed, using the techniques best suited for their individual personality, to address the areas of need outlined by their family. Our Certified Service Dog Coaches work daily with each canine visitor to provide them with a balanced daily routine, similar to the one maintained in their family’s home, in order to deliver real life training, for real life living.

To ensure that your furry friend receives the highest quality of care Canine Foundations limits the number of dogs who are accepted into the program. The professionals at Canine Foundations will personality profile each canine client to determine how many visits are required to achieve the results desired by their family. One visit consists of a maximum of 2 weeks of concentrated, one on one training. In the event more than one visit is necessary to achieve your goals, your dog will require a minimum of 2 weeks home time with your family between each visit. To see if this service is right for you, please contact us at (705) 835 – 3177, or by email at info@caninefoundations.com.

Please note that all canine visitors must be up to date on vaccinations and flea / tick control prior to attending camp. Proof of vaccinations and flea / tick control will be required at the time of registration.

Getting Started

Each client will start off with a Public Access Proficiency test to ascertain the dog’s strengths, weakness, and general disposition in a public setting. With this information, your consultant will develop a personalized training plan and schedule to provide your dog with the skills that are necessary for the final public access test.

Going Home

At the end of your dog’s Camp visit, each team receives a 1-hour transfer session with one of our Service Dog Coaches, to teach the handler how to utilize the commands your dog has learned during camp. A written copy of your dog’s homework program is provided for your review and all phone checkups are free as a part of your support.
