Professional Dog Walking: Elevating Standards in Pet Care
This course is specifically designed for professional dog walkers, providing them with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to elevate their standard of care and ensure safe, enjoyable walks for dogs in their care. Participants will learn how to properly size, fit, and use humane, effective equipment; optimize walk setups; troubleshoot issues like over-stimulation; handle multiple dogs on leash; and implement enrichment strategies for puppy visits.
During the hands-on portion of the course, participants will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in real-world scenarios, under the guidance of Canine Foundations’ Behaviour Consultants. With our excellent instructor-to-student ratio, each participant will receive personalized coaching to refine their techniques and ensure they’re equipped to manage walks that promote calm, focused behaviour in both private and group settings.
The course is grounded in scientifically supported, humane training methods, aimed at creating positive walking experiences for both dogs and handlers. To ensure a strong foundation, the Canine Attendant Training Course is strongly recommended as a prerequisite for the Professional Dog Walking Certification.
